A fun swap comes to an end

My very first swap is about to be wrapped up. Pictures aplenty have been posted on flickr, and there are more than a few I have gasped and ooohed and aahhhed over.
While I await, may I say rather excitedly, the delivery of one from my anonymous partner, I thought I'd show a sneaky peek at the one I made.

But first, some details...
The rules/regulations of the swap:
Each participant will sew, patchwork, crochet or knit one pincushion for their swap partner.
The pin cushion can be any dimension and size you want, but please try to make it as gorgeous as you possibly can.
Check out your swap partner's blog. See what sort of colors and style they use and then make a pin cushion that you think they would love. Please don't let them know that you are making their pin cushion though. Let it be a wonderful surprise when your package arrives.
If you would like to add a little something like chocolate or a packet of pins that is entirely up to you.

Here is what I came up with:

Pattern for the pin cushion from here

And a handy little scrap bag and tool holder.

Pattern for the scrap bag is from my brain... if you'd like to make one, ask me for the general plans (didn't write them down, was on auto pilot!), but it's fairly easy to make from just looking at it! Or converting a pattern you may already have (tote bag etc)

For lovers of pincushions and lovely work there is more to see at the foxy pincushion swap on flickr
and a list of swappers features on the beautiful blog of kate at fox's lane.
