Days 023 & 024

Yesterday was a day of overall cleaning and clean up (I even packed up some of the kids toys and put them away so there wasnt much mess to clean up on my own) before I hosted a "Girls Night In" event. Barry was off to Melbourne for the night.

Day 022: More from the bedroom
I didnt think I could find anything more from our room to throw away, however I found yet another shirt and some various underwears that needed to go...

As for my being grateful "something" I am grateful to the 2 girls that showed up, and those who were thinking about us but unable to attend! We had a nice night chilling sans children.

Day 023: paper, paper and more paper
My kids LOOOOVVVEEE drawing and all things paper. P has even started to "write" letters and "post" them to us. Its adorable to see her and S drawing together, but at the same time my heart breaks when its time to "clean" up, and disguise their older art in cereal boxes or newspapers to be sure they arent spotted in the recyling...
Any thoughts or ideas you have on keeping these gems or perhaps how you help your child from flipping out on seeing their art in amongst the bottles and boxes heading out the door to the yellow bin would be appreciated. Have tried a folder for them, and am thinking of a scrapbook I can paste the art into... but looking for some creative ideas too! :)

Im grateful for having my hubby back, only one night apart but was the worst sleep in a long time! I guess its that cleaving thing, I must have taken it too seriously (look it up, Eph 5, leave your family, and cleave to your partner!)

  1. Hey I just heard someone just the other day saying that they take a photo of the artwork sometimes with the child in the photo and keep that - you can stick it on USB and always print it if need be. OR You can keep it all in a file and then keep the good ones when you clean out each month - that way you can throw away old ones at night when they are in bed or in Daddy's briefcase (or mummys handbag) when they leave the house????
